The Walking Dead 8 Trailer but... do we really care?

We have been given a "treat" in The Walking Dead world to an extended five minute trailer of series 8 but is it all just a little bit too late?

In a time where Game of Thrones is dominating it's showtime, Marvel basically controls the big screen while also dropping incredible features on stream sites and even in the UK a recent reality show has become more talked about day to day than series 7 of TWD alone, is it time that this show drew to an end?

I write this with a sour taste as I generally enjoy TWD. I have read the comics and watched every episode of the show without fail but I just don't feel that little twinge of excitement like I used to.

Don't get me wrong there are some stellar moments in all seasons but they seem to be small segments in between a now rather stale timeline. There are always issues with a series having "filler" episodes and TWD has become a strong example of this. Seriously they should just reduce the season run and cram every episode with action and atmosphere. So much that you feel watching the trailer, that what you see is going to be 95% of the 'action' of the whole season!

12 months ago, we were very excited at the prospect of finally seeing Negan on the small screen, as his run in the comics is brilliant, despite the poor reaction of that cliffhanger at the end of Season 6. But after all the waiting we did last summer, I just don't feel the show has done Negan and the comics justice. It's all too easy for TWD to fall into the trap which it has done ever since the farm in season 2, and just grind to a halt.

I hope they pull it out of the bag with this season as there is still a strong following but I do think they need to start looking at an end goal, especially after Robert Kirkman's has announced he is looking to end the comic too.
